  • Lecture 1

The role of the Madonna in the creation, impulse and development of impulse as spiritual beings, the I and the Me, original purpose of I being, Sophia’s drama and yearning, creation of the Sophia Achamoth (Pistis/faith- knowledge, trust action), Lucifer and self feeling, motive as soul force, the illusion of matter, antipathy and sympathy as soul forces, soul breathing exercises, converting images to symbolic language of feelings, penetrating my will.
  • Lecture 2
    Topics include the distinction between my will and the ruling will of the cosmos, the significance of silence, seeing the spirit behind the manifest world, Kamaloca, karma and world will, The Black Madonna and esoteric tradition, the Marian church, Jaccus figure, working with the ABC process, disputing self feelings, issues around clairvoyance, the difference between soul experience and spiritual experience, working with symbols, constructing soul organs of perception, issues of trust, surrender, and blame.
  • Lecture 3
    Topics include how to judge the validity of spiritual experience, creating the heart eye through art, Demeter and Persephone, the kore figure, Anthroposophia as the second face of the Black Madonna, traditional culture into a culture of freedom and anxiety, transforming desire into transcendent will, humility and blame, Metanoia- changed thinking, transformed desire as imagination, the burned and devoured god, the scattered and buried god, the becoming process of an art work, techniques for finding a symbol of my catharsis.

Adventures on the Symbolic Plane of Consciousness

As had been employed by mystery pupils of the past, modern explorers of the wisdom of self-transformation use symbolic imagery for enhancing their meditative practice.
