This lecture was given to parents and faculty of the Sacramento Waldorf School in 2012. The topic addresses the original state of consciousness of human beings where the divine consciousness and the personality are mixed in the young child.
Then it is necessary for these two outlooks to separate in order for freedom of the individuality to result. This creates the divine – persona axis that reaches a peak in adolescence. The task is to then unite these two separate states of consciousness again in the search for initiation. These tasks are then related to the shifting roles of parenthood in contemporary life.

I have become the ‘guardian’ of a relatively new Waldorf School Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Unfortunately only 1 of the teachers ( a Eurythmist) has Waldorf Experience, the others have been trying to follow by attending annual workshops and what they can read. This is clearly not ideal, but yet we progress as best we can. At this stage it goes up to class 7 with High School being dreamed of… Educating and informing the parents has been the most challenging so would you mind if I pass on this video on education to the teachers?
